ACTS: ADDICTION COUNSELLING TRAINING SCHOOL
GF ACTS is a training school in operation to equip trainees to make an effective difference in people's lives. ACTS functions within a rehabilitation centre, where trainees spend time in study, lectures and practical application with the clients of Gilead Foundations. The training is structured to produce competent, effective, compassionate and gracious workers and counsellors, with whom all clients should feel safe and secure.
GF has many practical therapeutic skills training areas, and trainees will be expected to work alongside clients/students as part of their training.
GF ACTS is offering a one year diploma course in Addiction Studies & Bible theology. GF is also in the process of developing second and third year courses, all leading to International and National Accreditation.
1ST YEAR DIPLOMA IN ADDICTION STUDIES

Help for Alcoholics part 1 Help for Alcoholics part 2;
Resiliency and Self Repair Sexual Addiction;
Counselling Theory Human Development;
Counselling Practices part 1 Counselling Practices part 2;
Mental Health part 1 Mental Health part 2;
Group Practices Core Counselling Functions;
Support Groups ACOA Ethics in Addition Counselling;
Ethics Cultural Competence HIV/AIDS & Recovery TIP 37;
Biblical Systematic theology The Holy Spirit; The Person of Jesus Christ;
Genesis Process Relapse Prevention programme: 5 days tuition by the founder of Genesis, and training throughout the whole course using Genesis tools of recovery..
Grace-Based Environment: training in creating and maintaining a grace-based environment, rather than discipline and punishment when people relapse.
UK trainees will also be able to achieve an NVQ in Health & Social care; some units are mapped to DANOS (Drugs and Alcohol National Occupational Standards).
The classroom structure would be distance learning, group discussion with a facilitator and with some tutor involvement where applicable.
